Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole milk at room temperature
- 3 large eggs at room temperature
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 3-4 tablespoons vegetable oil beef drippings, or melted butter
Instructions
reheat the Oven:
- Set the oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Place about ½ teaspoon of oil, beef drippings, or melted butter into each cup of a 12-cup muffin tin.
- Put the muffin tin in the oven for 5-7 minutes to heat the fat until it's smoking hot.
Prepare the Batter:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
- Add the eggs and milk to the flour mixture.
- Whisk until the batter is smooth and free of lumps, resembling the consistency of heavy cream.
- Let the batter rest for 10-15 minutes.
Pour the Batter and Bake:
- Carefully remove the hot muffin tin from the oven.
- Quickly pour the batter into each cup, filling them about halfway. The hot fat should sizzle upon contact with the batter.
- Return the muffin tin to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes without opening the oven door, until the puddings are golden brown and puffed.
Serve Immediately:
- Remove the Yorkshire puddings from the oven and serve hot as a side dish to your favorite roast.

Notes
- Room Temperature Ingredients: Using room temperature milk and eggs helps achieve a smoother batter and better rise.
- Avoid Opening the Oven Door: To prevent the puddings from deflating, keep the oven door closed during baking.
- Serving Suggestions: Yorkshire puddings are traditionally served with roast beef and gravy but also pair well with other meats and stews.
