Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch cake pans. Line the bottoms with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Stir in the buttermilk.
  • Add hot coffee to the wet ingredients.
  • Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Divide the batter evenly between the cake pans.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
