Ingredients
  

  • 1 head radicchio quartered
  • 1-2 avocados sliced
  • Olive oil for grilling
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley
  • 1 green chili seeded for less heat
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/4 cup olive oil for zhug
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Make Zhug: Blend cilantro, parsley, chili, garlic, cumin, coriander, lemon juice, and olive oil. Add salt.
  • Prepare Radicchio: Slice radicchio, brush with oil.
  • Grill Radicchio: Grill radicchio until slightly charred.
  • Prepare Avocado: Slice avocado and brush with lemon.
  • Assemble Salad: Arrange radicchio and avocado, drizzle with zhug.

Notes

For a more mild flavor, substitute radicchio with grilled endive.
