Ingredients
  

For the Filling:

  • 6-7 large peaches peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the Topping:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • 1/4 cup boiling water

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a baking dish.
  • Toss peaches with sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon.
  • Make the topping by mixing flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter and add boiling water.
  • Pour peaches into the baking dish and top with spoonfuls of the dough.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.
  • Cool for 10 minutes before serving with ice cream.

Notes

  • Use fresh, ripe peaches for the best flavor.
  • Frozen or canned peaches can be used when fresh are unavailable.
