Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 pounds fresh asparagus trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat to 375°F and prepare the asparagus.
  • Sauté Garlic: Melt butter in a skillet, sauté garlic, then add cream cheese and heavy cream to make the sauce.
  • Add Cheese: Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until the sauce is smooth.
  • Combine and Assemble: Toss the asparagus with the cheese sauce and transfer to a baking dish.
  • Make Topping: Mix panko bread crumbs with melted butter, and sprinkle on top of the casserole.
  • Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly. Broil for extra crispiness if desired.
  • Serve: Let cool slightly before serving warm.
