Ingredients
  

  • 5 medium Granny Smith apples peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice optional
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar for caramel sauce
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup pecans toasted and chopped
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour for cobbler topping
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Optional Add-Ins:

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for batter
  • A pinch of sea salt for salted caramel variation
  • A tablespoon of bourbon for a boozy twist

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, toss apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, flour, and lemon juice. Set aside.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter and stir in brown sugar and cream to make caramel sauce.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk and melted butter to form the cobbler batter.
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Layer apple mixture, pour caramel sauce, sprinkle pecans, and dollop cobbler batter on top.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, until golden and bubbly.

Notes

  • You can add pears for a fruitier twist or mix the apples with other fall fruits.
  • Drizzle extra caramel sauce on top before serving for a richer dessert.
