Description
Tiramisu Balls are a delightful and easy dessert that combines the classic flavors of tiramisu in a fun, bite-sized form.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup brewed espresso, cooled
- 1 tablespoon coffee liqueur (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups ladyfinger cookies, crushed
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder (for dusting)
- 1/4 cup chocolate shavings (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip the mixture with an electric mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form, about 3-5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix the cooled espresso and coffee liqueur (if using).
- Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the espresso mixture, making sure not to soak them. They should be moist but not falling apart.
- In a large bowl, combine the crushed ladyfingers with the whipped mascarpone mixture. Gently fold until well combined.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Once all the balls are formed, refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
- Before serving, roll each ball in cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings.
Notes
- For a fun twist, add a tablespoon of orange zest to the mascarpone mixture for a citrusy flavor.
- Substitute the coffee liqueur with vanilla extract for a non-alcoholic version.
