Description

Sushi Wonton Cones are a delicious twist on traditional sushi, featuring crispy wonton wrappers filled with sushi rice, shrimp, avocado, and fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked sushi rice
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 12 wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1 small cucumber, julienned
  • 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (optional)
  • Soy sauce, for serving
  • Pickled ginger, for serving
  • Wasabi, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a muffin tin.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the cooked sushi rice, rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Mix well and set aside to cool.
  3. Take a wonton wrapper and gently press it into the muffin tin to form a cone shape. Repeat with the remaining wrappers.
  4. Bake the wonton wrappers in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise and sriracha (if using) to create a spicy mayo.
  6. Once the wonton cones are cool, fill each cone with a layer of sushi rice, followed by chopped shrimp, diced avocado, cucumber, and green onions.
  7. Drizzle the spicy mayo over the top of each filled cone.
  8. Serve immediately with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi on the side.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute the shrimp with marinated tofu or additional vegetables like bell peppers and carrots.
  • You can also add sesame seeds on top for extra crunch and flavor.
