Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large eggs, separated
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup smoked salmon, sliced
- 1/4 cup cucumber, thinly sliced
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
- In another bowl, mix the egg yolks, cream cheese, salt, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until smooth.
- Gently fold the egg whites into the yolk mixture until just combined, being careful not to deflate the egg whites.
- Spoon the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet to form 4 equal rounds.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cloud breads are golden and firm to the touch.
- Allow the cloud breads to cool on a wire rack for about 10 minutes.
- Once cooled, layer smoked salmon and cucumber slices between two cloud breads to create a sandwich.
- Serve with lemon wedges on the side for a fresh squeeze of flavor.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add a few slices of jalapeño or a spread of cream cheese mixed with sriracha.
- You can substitute the smoked salmon with turkey or chicken for a different protein option.
