Description

A quick and easy recipe for sautéed green peas with garlic and lemon, perfect as a side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen green peas
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Stir in the green peas and cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are heated through and tender.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat and add the lemon zest and lemon juice. Stir to combine.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If desired, sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes when sautéing the garlic.
  • Substitute the lemon with lime for a different citrus flavor, or add a splash of balsamic vinegar for a tangy twist.
