Description

Indulge in the rich and creamy flavors of Red Velvet Oreo Cheesecake, a delightful dessert that combines the classic taste of red velvet with the crunch of Oreo cookies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups Oreo cookie crumbs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 10 Oreo cookies, chopped (for filling)
  • 10 Oreo cookies, crushed (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine Oreo cookie crumbs and melted butter. Mix until well combined. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared springform pan to form the crust.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue to beat until well combined.
  4. Add the vanilla extract, eggs (one at a time), sour cream, flour, cocoa powder, and red food coloring. Mix until smooth and fully incorporated.
  5. Gently fold in the chopped Oreo cookies until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  6. Pour the cheesecake batter over the prepared crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly jiggly. Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside for an additional hour to cool gradually.
  8. Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
  9. Before serving, top the cheesecake with crushed Oreo cookies.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add 1 teaspoon of almond extract to the cheesecake batter.
  • Consider drizzling melted chocolate or cream cheese frosting over the top for an extra indulgent touch.
