A delicious and visually stunning red velvet brownie pie that combines the rich flavors of chocolate and cream cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cream cheese layer)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix the melted butter, eggs, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and red food coloring until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pie pan.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter and swirl gently with a knife for a marbled effect.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the pie to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon of espresso powder to the brownie batter.
- To make it festive, top with whipped cream and sprinkle with red and white sprinkles before serving.
