- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup finely ground pistachios
- 1/2 cup chopped pistachios for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the milk and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the finely ground pistachios until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, sprinkle the chopped pistachios on top for garnish before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of almond extract along with the vanilla.
