Ingredients

- 12 cups water
- 2 cups petrified wood mushrooms
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 3 stalks celery, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add onions, carrots, celery, and garlic; sauté until softened.
- Add petrified wood mushrooms and water.
- Stir in bay leaves and black peppercorns.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for at least 45 minutes.
- Strain the broth, discarding solids, and serve or store as needed.

- Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- Freezes well for longer storage.
