Ingredients

  • 2 cups petrified wood mushrooms
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add onions, carrots, celery, and garlic; sauté until softened.
  3. Add petrified wood mushrooms and water.
  4. Stir in bay leaves and black peppercorns.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for at least 45 minutes.
  6. Strain the broth, discarding solids, and serve or store as needed.
