Description
A simple and healthy recipe for making black bean tortillas using just one ingredient.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup cooked and drained black beans
Instructions
- Start by placing the cooked black beans in a blender or food processor. Blend until you achieve a creamy, thick consistency, adding a splash of water if necessary to help it blend smoothly.
- Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat, ensuring it’s hot enough to cook the flatbreads evenly.
- Scoop the black bean mixture and divide it into four equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball, then press down to form a flat disc about 1/4 inch thick.
- Carefully transfer the disc to the hot frying pan. Cook for approximately 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until both sides are golden and firm.
- Continue this process with the remaining portions, adjusting the heat as needed to avoid burning.
- Once all flatbreads are cooked, place them on a cooling rack to allow them to set before serving.
Notes
- Enhance the flavor by incorporating spices like cumin, garlic powder, or chili powder into the black bean mixture before blending.
- For a softer texture, consider mixing in a tablespoon of olive oil into the black bean paste.
