Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a pot, bring water to a boil.
  3. Add the rinsed rice, salt, and butter or oil.
  4. Cover and reduce heat to low, simmering for 15 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for another 10 minutes.
  6. Fluff with a fork and serve.

Notes

  • Jasmine rice can also be prepared in a rice cooker following the same water-to-rice ratio.
