Ingredients

- 1 cup jasmine rice
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon butter or oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a pot, bring water to a boil.
- Add the rinsed rice, salt, and butter or oil.
- Cover and reduce heat to low, simmering for 15 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it sit covered for another 10 minutes.
- Fluff with a fork and serve.
Notes
- Jasmine rice can also be prepared in a rice cooker following the same water-to-rice ratio.
- Add spices or herbs to enhance flavor if desired.
