Description
Delicious layered Neapolitan Rice Krispie Treats featuring strawberry, chocolate, and white chocolate flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
- 1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows, divided
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1/2 cup strawberry-flavored marshmallows (or 1/2 cup freeze-dried strawberries, crushed)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
- In a large saucepan over low heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Add 6 cups of mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and mix in the Rice Krispies cereal until well coated.
- Divide the mixture into three equal parts.
- In one part, add the remaining tablespoon of butter and the strawberry-flavored marshmallows (or crushed freeze-dried strawberries). Stir until combined, then press into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- In the second part, add the chocolate chips and stir until melted and combined. Press this mixture over the strawberry layer in the baking dish.
- In the final part, add the white chocolate chips and stir until melted and combined. Press this mixture over the chocolate layer in the baking dish.
- Let the treats cool at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before cutting into squares. For easier cutting, you can chill them in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
Notes
- For a fun twist, try adding a layer of crushed graham crackers between the chocolate and white chocolate layers for a s’mores flavor.
- You can also substitute the Rice Krispies with Cocoa Krispies for a chocolatey version throughout.
