Description

Delicious layered Neapolitan Rice Krispie Treats featuring strawberry, chocolate, and white chocolate flavors.


Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows, divided
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/2 cup strawberry-flavored marshmallows (or 1/2 cup freeze-dried strawberries, crushed)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a large saucepan over low heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
  3. Add 6 cups of mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  4. Remove from heat and mix in the Rice Krispies cereal until well coated.
  5. Divide the mixture into three equal parts.
  6. In one part, add the remaining tablespoon of butter and the strawberry-flavored marshmallows (or crushed freeze-dried strawberries). Stir until combined, then press into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  7. In the second part, add the chocolate chips and stir until melted and combined. Press this mixture over the strawberry layer in the baking dish.
  8. In the final part, add the white chocolate chips and stir until melted and combined. Press this mixture over the chocolate layer in the baking dish.
  9. Let the treats cool at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before cutting into squares. For easier cutting, you can chill them in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

Notes

  • For a fun twist, try adding a layer of crushed graham crackers between the chocolate and white chocolate layers for a s’mores flavor.
  • You can also substitute the Rice Krispies with Cocoa Krispies for a chocolatey version throughout.
