Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Pour the maple syrup into a medium saucepan and sprinkle in the sea salt.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring gently until the mixture comes to a rolling boil.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and allow it to simmer undisturbed for approximately 5 minutes.
  4. Use a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature, aiming for 235°F, which indicates the soft ball stage.
  5. After reaching the desired temperature, remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool for about 10 minutes until it drops to around 110°F.
  6. In a separate mixing bowl, blend the softened butter with the vanilla extract until smooth.
  7. Gradually incorporate the cooled maple syrup into the butter mixture, using an electric mixer set to medium speed.
  8. Whip the mixture for 5 to 7 minutes, or until it transforms into a light, fluffy cream with a pale color.
  9. Spoon the maple delight spread into a clean jar or container.
  10. Allow it to cool completely at room temperature before sealing the jar for storage.
