A delicious and easy recipe for cheesy manicotti shells filled with a creamy ricotta mixture and topped with marinara sauce.

- 12 manicotti shells
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the manicotti shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside to cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Carefully fill each manicotti shell with the cheese mixture using a spoon or a piping bag.
- Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Arrange the filled manicotti shells in the baking dish on top of the sauce.
- Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the filled shells, ensuring they are well covered.
- Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let the manicotti cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
- For a meatier version, add cooked ground beef or Italian sausage to the cheese filling.
- Try adding sautéed spinach or mushrooms to the cheese mixture for extra flavor and nutrition.
