Description
Kronk’s Spinach Puffs are a delightful and easy-to-make appetizer filled with a creamy spinach and cheese mixture, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 package (1 sheet) puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped spinach, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry into 3-inch squares.
- Place about 1 tablespoon of the spinach mixture in the center of each pastry square.
- Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to form a triangle or pocket, pressing the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch.
- Place the filled pastry puffs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the spinach mixture.
- You can substitute the spinach with chopped kale or sautéed mushrooms for a different flavor profile.
