- 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and black pepper.

- Heat vegetable oil in a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade.
- Cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
- Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, gochujang, and rice vinegar until well combined.
- Slice the hoagie rolls and spread the spicy mayo on both sides.
- Layer the sliced steak on the bottom half of each roll.
- Top with chopped kimchi and sliced green onions.
- Place the top half of the roll on each sandwich.
- Serve immediately, or wrap in foil and keep warm until ready to serve.
Notes
- For a sweeter flavor, add sliced pickled carrots to the sandwich.
- For a vegetarian option, substitute the steak with marinated and grilled portobello mushrooms.
