Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons black tea leaves
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 23 cardamom pods, crushed
  • 1 small piece of fresh ginger, grated (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Add the black tea leaves, crushed cardamom pods, and grated ginger (if using) to the boiling water. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the sugar and continue to simmer for another 2 minutes.
  4. Pour in the whole milk and bring the mixture back to a gentle boil.
  5. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for an additional 3-5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  6. Strain the tea into cups using a fine mesh strainer to remove the tea leaves and spices.
