Description
A delightful twist on traditional focaccia, this Homemade Jam Donut Focaccia combines the sweetness of jam with the fluffy texture of bread.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup fruit jam (your choice, such as raspberry or strawberry)
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
- Vegetable oil, for greasing
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, granulated sugar, and salt. Mix well to combine.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk, egg, and melted butter. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a greased baking sheet. Gently stretch and shape the dough into a rectangle or circle, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Use your fingers to create dimples all over the surface of the dough. Spoon the fruit jam into the dimples, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the focaccia is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the wet ingredients.
- You can also experiment with different jams or even fill the dimples with Nutella for a chocolatey twist.
