Description

Indulge in the sweet joy of making your own Homemade Cadbury Creme Eggs with this easy recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
  • Yellow food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar, corn syrup, softened butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until well combined and a dough forms.
  2. Divide the dough into two equal parts. Add a few drops of yellow food coloring to one half and mix until the color is evenly distributed. This will be the yolk filling.
  3. Roll the white filling into small egg shapes, about 1 inch long. Do the same with the yellow filling, making smaller balls for the yolk.
  4. Gently press the yellow filling into the center of the white filling to form an egg shape. Repeat until all the filling is used. Place the formed eggs on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Chill the eggs in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.
  6. While the eggs are chilling, melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  7. Dip each chilled egg into the melted white chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off. Place back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Melt the milk chocolate chips in the same manner and drizzle over the white chocolate-coated eggs for decoration.
  9. Allow the chocolate to set at room temperature or refrigerate for about 15 minutes until firm.

Notes

  • For a creamier filling, add an extra tablespoon of heavy cream to the mixture.
  • For a fun twist, try adding a hint of almond extract to the filling for a different flavor profile.
