Description

Gordon Ramsay’s Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes redefine comfort food with a delicious twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and green bell pepper, cooking until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard. Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Allow it to cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the shredded provolone cheese until melted and well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Toast the hamburger buns in a separate skillet or under the broiler until golden brown.
  6. Spoon the cheesesteak mixture onto the bottom half of each bun, then place the top half on. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add sliced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the beef mixture.
  • Swap out the provolone cheese for cheddar or mozzarella for a different flavor profile.
