Description
Gordon Ramsay’s Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes redefine comfort food with a delicious twist on a classic dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
- 4 hamburger buns
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and green bell pepper, cooking until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard. Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Allow it to cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the shredded provolone cheese until melted and well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Toast the hamburger buns in a separate skillet or under the broiler until golden brown.
- Spoon the cheesesteak mixture onto the bottom half of each bun, then place the top half on. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add sliced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the beef mixture.
- Swap out the provolone cheese for cheddar or mozzarella for a different flavor profile.
