Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup Swiss cheese, shredded

- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat until melted and hot.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and tender.
- Stir in the minced garlic, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the garlic is fragrant.
- Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the shredded Swiss cheese over the mushroom mixture. Stir until the cheese is melted and well combined.
- While the mushrooms are cooking, toast the slices of bread until golden brown.
- Spoon the garlic Swiss mushroom mixture generously over each slice of toasted bread.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes when sautéing the mushrooms.
- You can substitute the Swiss cheese with Gruyère or mozzarella for a different flavor profile.
