- 1 large egg

- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass or your hand.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the frosting, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth. If desired, divide the frosting into separate bowls and add food coloring to each for different colors.
- Once the cookies are completely cool, spread the frosting on top and decorate with sprinkles if desired.

- For a festive twist, try adding citrus zest (like lemon or orange) to the dough for extra flavor.
- You can also substitute half of the all-purpose flour with almond flour for a nutty taste and texture.
