Description
A light and quick version of the classic tartiflette, perfect for a tasty dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded
- 1 cup low-fat crème fraîche
- 1 cup low-fat cheese, shredded (such as Gruyère or Swiss)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or ½ teaspoon dried thyme)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup vegetable or chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced potatoes, shredded chicken, cooked onion and garlic, crème fraîche, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
- Spread half of the potato mixture evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Pour half of the broth over the layer.
- Add the remaining potato mixture on top and pour the rest of the broth over it. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly on top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden and the potatoes are tender.
- Let the tartiflette cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider using smoked chicken for a deeper taste.
- You can also substitute the potatoes with sweet potatoes for a healthier twist.
