Description

Delicious and easy-to-make chocolate coconut nests filled with candy eggs, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup peanut butter chips
  • 1 cup crispy rice cereal
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup pastel candy-coated chocolate eggs (or gummy candies)
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Instructions

  1. Begin by melting the dark chocolate and peanut butter chips together in a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water, stirring until the mixture is silky and well combined. Remove from heat and allow it to cool for a few minutes.
  2. In a separate large bowl, mix together the crispy rice cereal, shredded coconut, and walnuts if you choose to use them.
  3. Drizzle the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal blend and gently stir until everything is thoroughly coated in the chocolate.
  4. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with wax paper. Using a scoop or spoon, drop dollops of the mixture onto the sheet, forming little nests.
  5. Create a small hollow in the center of each nest using your finger or a small utensil.
  6. Fill each hollow with a few pastel candy-coated chocolate eggs or gummy candies for a pop of color.
  7. Chill the nests in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, allowing them to firm up.
  8. Once they are set, enjoy them right away or keep them stored in a sealed container in the fridge for later snacking.

Notes

  • For a seasonal flair, use themed candy eggs that match the holiday.
  • Swap the crispy rice cereal for crushed pretzels for a delightful sweet and salty twist.
