- 1 pound chicken gizzards
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- oil for frying
Instructions
- Rinse the chicken gizzards and place them in a bowl with buttermilk. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Drain the gizzards from the buttermilk and dredge them in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess.
- Fry gizzards in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying for the best crispiness.
- These can be served with ranch or hot sauce for dipping.
