Description

Crème Brûlée Brigadeiros are a delightful fusion of traditional Brazilian sweets and the classic French dessert, offering a rich and creamy treat with a caramelized sugar topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for caramelizing)
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 1/4 cup cocoa nibs or chocolate shavings (for coating)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, mix together the sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, butter, vanilla extract, and sea salt until well blended.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium-low heat, stirring continuously until it thickens and begins to pull away from the sides of the pan, which should take about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Once the mixture has reached the desired consistency, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool for about 10 minutes.
  4. After cooling, lightly grease your hands with butter and take small portions of the mixture, rolling them into bite-sized balls.
  5. On a plate, spread out the cocoa nibs or chocolate shavings and gently roll each truffle in them until they are completely covered.
  6. Arrange the truffles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. In a small saucepan, add the granulated sugar and heat over medium heat, stirring until it melts and turns a rich amber color, being careful to avoid burning.
  8. Drizzle the caramelized sugar over each truffle, allowing it to harden for a few minutes before enjoying.
