Description

A delicious homemade version of the classic Cadbury Eggs, perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional, for texture)
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, softened butter, corn syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until well combined and a dough forms.
  2. If using, fold in the shredded coconut for added texture.
  3. Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions and shape each portion into an oval egg shape.
  4. Place the shaped eggs on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  5. While the eggs are chilling, melt the milk chocolate chips and vegetable oil together in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  6. Once the eggs are firm, dip each egg into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are fully coated.
  7. Return the coated eggs to the parchment-lined baking sheet and allow the chocolate to set at room temperature or refrigerate for quicker setting.
  8. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Notes

  • For a creamier filling, add 2 tablespoons of heavy cream to the mixture.
  • Try using different flavored extracts like almond or mint instead of vanilla for a fun twist.
