Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked rotini pasta
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked rotini pasta, shredded chicken, marinara sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly coated.
  3. Stir in 1 cup of mozzarella cheese and half of the Parmesan cheese into the pasta mixture. If using, add the chopped basil for extra flavor.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Top the casserole with the remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese. If desired, sprinkle breadcrumbs over the top for added crunch.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Let the casserole cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
