A delectable recipe for caramel coffee fudge that combines rich flavors of coffee and chocolate with a sweet caramel twist.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare an 8×8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some paper to hang over the edges.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, heavy cream, butter, brewed coffee, vanilla extract, and salt over medium heat.
  3. Stir the mixture until smooth and the sugar fully dissolves.
  4. Increase the heat to bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a gentle simmer for about 5-7 minutes, stirring continuously.
  5. Monitor the temperature with a candy thermometer, aiming for 240°F (soft ball stage).
  6. Once the desired temperature is reached, remove the saucepan from heat and mix in the chocolate chips until melted and silky.
  7. Pour half of the fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  8. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over this layer.
  9. Add the remaining fudge mixture on top, smoothing it out, and drizzle the remaining caramel sauce.
  10. Create a swirl pattern through the layers using a toothpick or knife.
  11. Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature for about 2 hours or refrigerate for about an hour until firm.
  12. Lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper and cut into squares for serving.
