Description
A delectable recipe for caramel coffee fudge that combines rich flavors of coffee and chocolate with a sweet caramel twist.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Prepare an 8×8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some paper to hang over the edges.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, heavy cream, butter, brewed coffee, vanilla extract, and salt over medium heat.
- Stir the mixture until smooth and the sugar fully dissolves.
- Increase the heat to bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a gentle simmer for about 5-7 minutes, stirring continuously.
- Monitor the temperature with a candy thermometer, aiming for 240°F (soft ball stage).
- Once the desired temperature is reached, remove the saucepan from heat and mix in the chocolate chips until melted and silky.
- Pour half of the fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over this layer.
- Add the remaining fudge mixture on top, smoothing it out, and drizzle the remaining caramel sauce.
- Create a swirl pattern through the layers using a toothpick or knife.
- Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature for about 2 hours or refrigerate for about an hour until firm.
- Lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper and cut into squares for serving.
Notes
- Yields 16 squares.
- For quicker cooling, refrigerate the fudge.
