Description

Deliciously tender and flavorful beef burnt ends made from beef deckle, smoked to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 1 point cut beef deckle
  • 2 tablespoons BBQ rub
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F.
  2. Trim excess fat from the beef deckle.
  3. Rub the BBQ rub evenly over the beef.
  4. Place the beef in the smoker and cook until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. Wrap the beef in foil and return it to the smoker until it reaches 200°F.
  6. Remove from smoker and cube the beef into bite-sized pieces.
  7. Mix with barbecue sauce, brown sugar, and vinegar.
  8. Return to smoker for an additional 1-2 hours until caramelized.

Notes

  • For best results, use a meat thermometer to monitor the internal temperature.
  • Allow the burnt ends to rest for 15 minutes before serving.
