Description

A quick and tasty recipe for baked canned tuna fish sticks that are easy to prepare and perfect for a snack or meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tuna in water, drained
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Cooking spray or olive oil for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it with cooking spray or olive oil.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg. Take small portions of the tuna mixture and shape them into sticks, about 3 inches long and 1 inch wide.
  4. Dip each stick into the beaten egg, then roll it in the flour to coat lightly.
  5. Place the coated fish sticks on the prepared baking sheet. Spray the tops with cooking spray or drizzle with a little olive oil for extra crispiness.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through the cooking time.
  7. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as tartar sauce or ketchup.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or some chopped jalapeños to the tuna mixture.
  • Try using different types of cheese, such as cheddar or mozzarella, for a different flavor profile.
