Description
A quick and tasty recipe for baked canned tuna fish sticks that are easy to prepare and perfect for a snack or meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (15 ounces) tuna in water, drained
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- Cooking spray or olive oil for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it with cooking spray or olive oil.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg. Take small portions of the tuna mixture and shape them into sticks, about 3 inches long and 1 inch wide.
- Dip each stick into the beaten egg, then roll it in the flour to coat lightly.
- Place the coated fish sticks on the prepared baking sheet. Spray the tops with cooking spray or drizzle with a little olive oil for extra crispiness.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through the cooking time.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as tartar sauce or ketchup.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or some chopped jalapeños to the tuna mixture.
- Try using different types of cheese, such as cheddar or mozzarella, for a different flavor profile.
