- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated carrot
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 cup ketchup (for topping)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated carrot, and chopped green onions.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, egg, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Pour the wet mixture into the meat mixture and mix until well combined, but do not overmix.
- Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
- Spread the ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add more red pepper flakes or a dash of Sriracha to the meat mixture.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option while maintaining flavor.
