- 3/4 cup granulated sugar

- 4 large egg yolks

- 1 package (9 oz) graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for crust)

Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Heat over medium flame, whisking continuously until the mixture thickens and starts to bubble, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks vigorously. Slowly incorporate a small portion of the hot milk mixture into the yolks, whisking constantly to avoid curdling.
- Once tempered, return the yolk mixture to the saucepan with the remaining milk mixture. Keep stirring over medium heat until the custard reaches a thicker consistency, approximately 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and blend in the vanilla extract and butter until the mixture is silky smooth.
- In another bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract, mixing until well incorporated.
- Firmly press this mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×9-inch baking dish to create a solid crust.
- Carefully pour the custard over the crust, spreading it evenly.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or until fully set.
- Once chilled and firm, slice into squares and serve cold. Add a dollop of whipped cream on top if desired.
