Description

Delicious heart-shaped biscuits made with strawberry yogurt, perfect for treating your dog on Valentine’s Day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole grain flour
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup fresh or canned strawberry puree
  • 1/4 cup plain, unsweetened yogurt
  • 1/4 cup natural peanut butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a spacious bowl, mix the whole grain flour, oats, and baking soda together until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the strawberry puree, yogurt, peanut butter, egg, and honey (if desired) until smooth and creamy.
  4. Carefully fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until a cohesive dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour.
  5. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and roll it out to about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out the treats and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are light golden brown around the edges.
  8. Let the treats cool on a wire rack completely before sharing them with your pet.

Notes

  • For a softer texture, reduce the baking time slightly.
  • Feel free to swap the strawberry puree for other fruit purees like banana or pumpkin for different flavors.
