Description
Delicious heart-shaped biscuits made with strawberry yogurt, perfect for treating your dog on Valentine’s Day.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups whole grain flour
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup fresh or canned strawberry puree
- 1/4 cup plain, unsweetened yogurt
- 1/4 cup natural peanut butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a spacious bowl, mix the whole grain flour, oats, and baking soda together until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the strawberry puree, yogurt, peanut butter, egg, and honey (if desired) until smooth and creamy.
- Carefully fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until a cohesive dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and roll it out to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out the treats and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are light golden brown around the edges.
- Let the treats cool on a wire rack completely before sharing them with your pet.
Notes
- For a softer texture, reduce the baking time slightly.
- Feel free to swap the strawberry puree for other fruit purees like banana or pumpkin for different flavors.
