Description
A delicious and creamy Triple Mash made with russet potatoes and cauliflower, topped with crispy horseradish bread crumbs.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 large russet potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 pound cauliflower, chopped into florets
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup fresh bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the diced potatoes and cauliflower florets. Cook until both are tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return to the pot.
- Add 2 tablespoons of butter, buttermilk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the potatoes and cauliflower. Mash until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the fresh bread crumbs and cook, stirring frequently, until golden brown and crispy, about 5 minutes.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the horseradish and chopped parsley.
- Serve the mashed potatoes and cauliflower in a large bowl, topped with the horseradish bread crumbs.
Notes
- For a creamier texture, add more buttermilk or a splash of heavy cream.
- Try adding grated cheese, like cheddar or Parmesan, to the mash for extra flavor.
