Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (such as Gruyère or Parmesan)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a tart pan with olive oil.
  3. Arrange the sliced tomatoes in the bottom of the tart pan.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, flour, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter over the tomatoes in the tart pan.
  6. Sprinkle the grated cheese and chopped basil on top.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the tart is set and golden brown.
  8. Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
