Description

A delicious and hearty recipe for Three-Cheese Meatball Mostaccioli, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 12 ounces mostaccioli pasta
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, parsley, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until cooked through.
  4. While the meatballs are baking, cook the mostaccioli pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  5. In a large pot, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat. Once the meatballs are done, add them to the sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Add the cooked mostaccioli to the pot and gently stir to combine.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a 9×13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  8. Bake in the oven for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture or marinara sauce.
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option, and use low-fat cheese to reduce calories.
