Description
A delicious and aromatic dish featuring tender beef stir-fried with Thai basil and served over fragrant lemongrass rice.
Ingredients

- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 cups fresh Thai basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup jasmine rice
- 1 stalk lemongrass, chopped
- 2 cups water
Instructions
- Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a pot, combine the rinsed rice, chopped lemongrass, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until rice is cooked.
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Add the sliced beef to the skillet and stir-fry until browned.
- Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and fold in the fresh Thai basil leaves until wilted.
- Serve the beef mixture over the lemongrass rice.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, add sliced chili peppers during the stir-fry.
- Make sure to use fresh Thai basil for the best flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
