Description

Tamarind-Marinated Grilled Prawns are a delicious and tangy addition to your BBQ, offering a unique flavor that elevates any outdoor gathering.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb large prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup tamarind paste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix tamarind paste, olive oil, honey, minced garlic, ground cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Add the prawns to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated prawns onto skewers.
  5. Grill the prawns for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks.
  6. Remove from the grill and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the prawns for up to 2 hours.
  • Serve with lime wedges for added zest.
  • These prawns can also be cooked in a grill pan if you don’t have an outdoor grill.
