Description

Tajín Candy Stripes are a delightful combination of sweet and spicy flavors, perfect for those who enjoy a unique twist on traditional candy.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon of Tajín seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water over medium heat.
  2. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a boil.
  3. Once boiling, stop stirring and let it cook until it reaches the hard crack stage (300°F or 150°C).
  4. Remove from heat and quickly stir in Tajín seasoning and vanilla extract.
  5. If using, add food coloring and mix well.
  6. Pour the mixture onto a greased baking sheet and spread it out evenly.
  7. Allow it to cool completely before breaking it into pieces.

Notes

  • Be careful when handling hot sugar syrup as it can cause burns.
  • Adjust the amount of Tajín seasoning to taste for more or less spice.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep the candy fresh.
