- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup diced fresh strawberries
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup softened unsalted butter (for filling)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt, stirring well to blend.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and gently knead for about a minute until it becomes smooth.
- Roll the dough out into a rectangle approximately 1/4 inch thick.
- Evenly spread the softened butter over the surface of the dough, then sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon, and diced strawberries on top.
- Carefully roll the dough from one long side to the other, forming a tight log.
- Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and arrange them in the prepared baking dish.
- Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they turn a lovely golden brown.
- While the rolls are baking, prepare the icing by mixing the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until you achieve a smooth consistency.
- Once the rolls are out of the oven, allow them to cool for about 5 minutes before drizzling the icing generously over the top.
- Serve these delightful swirls warm and savor every bite!
