Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup diced fresh strawberries
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup softened unsalted butter (for filling)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt, stirring well to blend.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and gently knead for about a minute until it becomes smooth.
  6. Roll the dough out into a rectangle approximately 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Evenly spread the softened butter over the surface of the dough, then sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon, and diced strawberries on top.
  8. Carefully roll the dough from one long side to the other, forming a tight log.
  9. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and arrange them in the prepared baking dish.
  10. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they turn a lovely golden brown.
  11. While the rolls are baking, prepare the icing by mixing the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until you achieve a smooth consistency.
  12. Once the rolls are out of the oven, allow them to cool for about 5 minutes before drizzling the icing generously over the top.
  13. Serve these delightful swirls warm and savor every bite!
