Description
A refreshing and delicious Strawberry Boba recipe perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup tapioca pearls
- 2 cups milk (or non-dairy milk)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries and granulated sugar. Blend until smooth. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl to remove seeds, pressing down with a spatula to extract as much juice as possible. Set aside.
- In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Add the tapioca pearls and stir gently. Reduce heat to medium and cook according to package instructions, usually about 5-7 minutes, until the pearls are translucent.
- Once cooked, remove the tapioca pearls from heat and drain them in a fine mesh strainer. Rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process and prevent sticking.
- In a large glass, add a few spoonfuls of the cooked tapioca pearls. Pour in the strawberry puree, followed by the milk and vanilla extract. Stir gently to combine.
- Add ice cubes to the glass and stir again. Taste and adjust sweetness if desired by adding more sugar or strawberry puree.
- Serve immediately with a wide straw to enjoy the boba!
Notes
- For a creamier texture, use whole milk or add a splash of heavy cream to the milk mixture.
- Experiment with different fruits like mango or peach for a unique twist on the classic boba drink.
