  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup honey

Instructions

  1. Begin by heating the water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved. Once dissolved, take it off the heat and allow it to cool completely.
  2. In a blender, combine the strawberries, basil leaves, and lemon juice. Pour in the cooled sugar syrup and blend until you achieve a silky smooth consistency.
  3. Strain the blended mixture through a fine sieve into a clean bowl to eliminate any seeds and basil remnants, discarding the solids left behind.
  4. Transfer the strained mixture into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer for about 1 hour, allowing it to start freezing.
  5. After the hour, take the dish out and use a fork to scrape and stir the mixture, breaking up any ice that has formed. Return it to the freezer for another hour.
  6. When the sorbet is fully frozen and has a fluffy texture, scoop it into chilled bowls.
  7. Finish by drizzling honey over the top of each serving and adding a few extra basil leaves for a touch of elegance.
