Description
A refreshing and unique dessert that combines the sweetness of strawberries with the aromatic flavor of basil, layered in a delightful icebox cake.

- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 package of ladyfinger cookies
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries and chopped basil. Set aside to marinate for about 15 minutes.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Dip ladyfinger cookies in milk briefly and layer them in the bottom of a serving dish.
- Spread a layer of the whipped cream over the ladyfingers.
- Add a layer of the marinated strawberries and basil on top of the whipped cream.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of whipped cream on top.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to set.
- Serve chilled, garnished with additional strawberries and basil if desired.
Notes
- For a more intense basil flavor, you can blend some basil into the whipped cream.
- Make sure to use ripe strawberries for the best flavor.
- This dessert can be made a day in advance for convenience.
