Sticky Sesame Tofu is a delicious and flavorful dish that combines crispy tofu with a sweet and savory sesame sauce.
Ingredients

- 1 block firm tofu, pressed and cubed
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Press the tofu to remove excess moisture and cut it into cubes.
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey (or maple syrup), rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger.
- Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat and add the tofu cubes.
- Cook the tofu until golden brown on all sides.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry.
- Add the sauce mixture to the pan with the tofu and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top before serving.
Notes
- For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey/maple syrup.
- Serve with steamed rice or vegetables for a complete meal.
